This book, which is essentially autobiographical, is the first venture into storytelling for the author.
He relates local history with pastimes, sports, holidays, events, celebrations, education and employment during his first 22 years, preceded by some family history. During this time Jeff attended Shirecliffe Infant and Junior Schools, Marlcliffe Intermediate Secondary School, Sheffield College of Advanced Technology and his first permanent employment was with Thomas Firth and John Brown Limited in the Brown Firth Research Laboratories.

Historical facts to illuminate events (some tragic) and celebrations are included as is humour where possible.
